Then when it was finally time to have them installed they took my endless phone calls without complaint and never made me feel like I was a nuisance. "Worst experience I've ever had with a service provider. I had disconnected and separated my counter before they arrived to install the new one and the two adult male installers refused to help me lift up the existing countertop that was already uninstalled. Then K & D countertops told me over the phone that they charge over $300 for a removal and take away and they would charge the same amount just to help me lift it even if they didn't take it away. I spoke to manager Steve, who was also of no help and clearly not very experienced in the field, based on the conversation I had with him. My husband is a disabled veteran. I will leave it at that. They charge more than their competitors for the same product. Look elsewhere while you still can."

Very helpful and patient throughout the whole process and even provided videos of other perspectives from the product we were interested in purchasing. She shared videos on how to clean the product as well. Along the way we inquired about some additional options and she was quick to provide a quote and explained the details. As part of the process, and when you're ready for them to measure, you just let them know and they were quick to set up an appointment to get that completed. The person came to the house and was very professional and informative as well. He came in and quickly completed what he needed to do. About a week after that, we received pictures of what our product would look like cut to size. We requested a few minor changes and they were quick to adjust and resend pics with design changes. Once we approved, it took a couple weeks to get scheduled and then two guys showed up and handled their business. The install went well and cut outs fit as expected so there were no surprises. The guys were very friendly and answered any questions I had during the install. There were a couple things we pointed out and those were resolved promptly without issue. After shopping around at many places, I'm glad we did business with K&D Countertops. Thank you, Tim and Peggy"

"This store gets 5-stars all around . Their friendless and knowledge is unmatched and they also have very competitive prices. The reason for knocking a star is related to the install which does not come from this store . So after my kitchen survey, they told me within a few days of approving my plan they would reach out to me. But instead, it was me reaching out to them after a two week period, and specifically their scheduler Steve to get on the calendar. This was long after they had received my email approving the PDF plan they sent me. Once I talked to Steve, he got me on the calendar and apologized for being busy, and was very friendly, but again it was me doing the pursuing and not the other way which is frustrating as a customer. Also, instead of doing my very small kitchen condo install in a day, they last minute told me they would have to divide the job up over 2 days (non-consecutive, which meant having to take more time off from work to accommodate the installers). The installers claimed it was due to a "broken machine that cuts the slab". Maybe. But for the record, the second day was just them bringing out the backsplash slab pieces which was a pretty fast install . The main slabs were previously put in the first install day. I just can't grasp why this wasn't done together for such a small kitchen. Both me and my wife work, so the more days we have to surrender to an install, the more it feels like an inconvenience. Also, I had paid for a garbage disposal mount in my install. It was never provided and Cole the installer apologized for not bringing. I'm guessing they just forgot to grab it but it was never clarified why it wasn't brought out, and the installer didn't bother to call and rectify a refund. It's only a $20 part, so not a huge issue, but because my two install days became spaced around 5 days apart, I needed that part to make my kitchen sink drain functional again, so had to run to the hardware store to buy one. But now that it's in, the end product looks great 😊"

"A very well run business, selling a great product, at a very competitive price. These folks make it look easy. I recently built a farm shop/office and included a small kitchen and bathroom. My cabinet maker said I should consider K&D for countertops. Being two hours from St. Louis, I thought that might be farther than they travel. Not the case at all, they cover a very large geography. The process started with a call to the Trenton, IL showroom and a discussion with the sales staff. They were knowledgeable and prompt and I had the information I requested and a quote in a couple days. Rachel was my main contact and answered my questions and handled the paperwork when I decided to proceed with K&D. About a week later we set a day and time to measure the kitchen and bath. It was the following Monday, between 7-10. Again, being two hours from St. Louis, I planned for someone showing up around 10. Well, Sunday afternoon I get a text from the gentleman doing the measuring and he says he’ll be at my place at 7. When I arrived at the farm Monday morning a couple minutes before 7, there he was. An hour and a half later he was done and on his way to his next stop in Peoria. The install occurred a few days later, with a couple nice guys, Cameron and Clay doing the work. They showed up on time, worked well as a team, and finished in 2-3 hours with no issues and left a clean worksite. I might write a review once every couple years. When a business is this well run and organized, especially in the building industry, you have to let people know. I told my contractor about K&D and how fantastic my experience was, and having seen their work before, he said, “I think about all those businesses that spend thousands of dollars on consultants to tell them how to run their business. They could just hire K&D to install a countertop and see how it should be done.”"

"First of all, I love the countertops and the backsplash. It’s everything I hoped for. Second, your installation crew are “artistes” and do a great job. I do, however, want to make a couple of observations and suggestions: The countertop crew used the back door which opens directly into the kitchen. The backsplash crew used the front door and tramped through my entry hall and dining room without putting down any cover over my hardwood floors and oriental rugs. This was bad enough, but we had to break out some plaster which resulted in tracking plaster dust. And I think in the future it would be helpful if it was determined that a wall was not level to have figured this out prior to the installation so the necessary leveling could have already been done. Finally, I thought I had agreed to have the old counter taken away with exception of the one long section, but none of it was removed. That’s ok. We took care of it, but I was wondering if I had paid anything towards that service. Ultimately, I am really happy with the countertops. I just felt some of the things which happened could have been handled better."

We got the Summerhill with pencil round edges and silver stone sink in both our main kitchen and our basement kitchenette. The stone is thick and beautiful, and our quote was thousands cheaper than the local granite installer (thinner stone and uglier colors with shady sales practices). Their prices have hardly increased in the past few years, which I know since we had gotten a quote 2 years ago. There was a small mismeasure, which they were willing to come out and fix, even if it meant installing a new piece of quartz. I declined and covered the minuscule gap with the new backsplash I installed. They still insisted to come out and caulk a 1 millimeter remaining gap. I couldn’t have asked for a better countertop company to give me my dream kitchen."

My backsplash was removed after measure and in the install there was a 1/4” gap to the back wall. "Outstanding! Our original new house quartz countertop was installed by K&D. We did not choose K&D specifically, but, rather, selected an upgrade from the builder's options. We were very pleased with our countertop. However, after nearly 5 years, we wanted to get a farmhouse sink. This required cutting the quartz countertop to accommodate the new sink. K&D told us which of three sinks would work size-wise. They made a mistake in which sink they said was the one we should get. We got the wrong sink and got it installed. Our existing countertop could not be cut to fit the new sink. End of story: K&D gave us a new countertop (no extra charge beyond the original cost of cutting our original countertop and no complaints on their part). On installation day, the team removed my laminate countertops and backsplash, a plus for me, and installed the quartz. My cabinets were off a little, but they were able to make the adjustments. I am amazed at how invisible the seam is, you have to hunt for it even though you know where it is. Installation crew took their time and did an awesome job. "Truly great experience! Kelly at K&D did a great job of walking us through the process and providing us the information that we needed to make an informed decision. The price was fair and the product is excellent. The measurement person showed up right on time and was in and out in about 45 mins. He pointed out a few thing that he thought would look better that we didn’t even consider with no impact to the quote. Shortly after that visit we received the drawing of our kitchen and vanity for approval. We did make a few changes after we had approved the drawing (bought a different cooktop and went to a wide spread faucet in the bathroom). Fortunately they hadn’t cut our tops yet so Kelly jumped right on it as was able to make the changes. Just a few days after that we received our install date. RJ (installer) and his team called when they left the shop and showed up promptly when they said they would. They had the old tops removed and the new ones installed in under 4 hours. They even were successful at not damaging the tile backsplash. There were some pretty tight fits, so that was a big win. There was only one snag and that was the cooktop hadn’t arrived by install day to dry fit it. However, the installer said to just contact Kelly and they would have someone come out to make any adjustments so that it would fit. Fortunately we didn’t need that and the dimensions that we provided from the mfg were accurate. We appreciated the flexibility though. They did a thorough job and cleaned up everything when they were done. Wouldn’t have even known they were there but for the beautiful countertops they left behind."

I ended up picking a Silestone countertop and was told by a couple of Silestone dealers that they would do their best to match up the vein at the seam but it wouldn't be perfect. That concerned me so I picked a back up Cambria countertop. I stopped by K&D and spoke with Kelly and she showed me a picture of one of the seams that they did with a vein and it matched PERFECTLY.... even better she told me they could get the Silestone countertop that I had wanted. So that was a done deal. Kelly took care of everything and made the entire process so easy and painless. My countertops came quickly and the seam with the vein could not have matched up any better. "Extraordinary! I went to the Maryland Heights store, found a product I liked and returned home with a small sample. I called Ballwin, O’Fallon, MO & South County stores to see if they had a larger sample or a full slab we could see. I had to leave a message at all three locations. I took the sample back to Maryland Heights and was told that the stores I mentioned, did not have large samples. So I ordered 3 countertops. I returned home and before the end of the day, I got a call from the three stores in which I had left a message. Unheard of to get return calls in today’s typical business environment. In a day or two, we got a call telling us when our tops would be ready and when we were scheduled for installation. Which was Monday, Aug. 17, about 10 days. On the Friday before installation, we got a call confirming the Monday installation and the time frame. Today, we got a call mid-morning, confirming the time for installation, 3:00 PM. At 3:00 PM, the installers were at the door. They were practicing Covid 19 protocol and had on masks. They went about installation quickly and efficiently. It is a beautiful end to a family room upgrade. What a joy to deal with a company that “gets it”. We have had K&D do two previous projects and while we were always pleased, this was over the top. K&D will always get our recommendation."

Our experience with K&D started a couple of years ago, we were remodeling a powder room and we had a serpentine vanity. My wife loves the custom cabinets that I built 30 years ago, but wanted to update including solid tops. We visited the showrooms several times and checked out a variety of pattern samples. He also helped to find matching 2cm thick material for the full height backsplash. We started our kitchen remodeling project just before the Covid-19 restrictions were put in place. That played havoc with my project schedule. When K&D reopened, we were able to schedule. The measurement technicians and the installers were always on time and were very good to work with. I am putting on some of the final custom cabinet details and the project is turning out great. My wife loves her updated kitchen!"
